On Her Majesty’s Accidental Service

Sorry for this comic being so late. I was out during the day so was unable to get this done earlier. I’d only just heard on the news today that Queen Elizabeth was going to be visiting Culloden and Glendoe - which is at Loch Ness - and knew I couldn’t not put it in the strip.

Read more about it here:

This is only my second time ever drawing the queen herself, as far as I’m aware. Unless you count making toy coins as a kid. The only other time I drew her riding on the back of a giant bumblebee… yeah it was a request. Struck me as odd since I’ve drawn so many presidents and politicans in my day. Maybe they’re just ripe for it though. The Queen doesn’t really do anything… worth parodying…

Very funny! I love how you handled your depiction of the queen, too! While we never really see her face she is instantly recognizable … and it seems to work so much better that way! I dig it!

Thanks. There’s something about depicting royal figures… I think the queen is better recognised this way. It’s the opposite for members of parliament or presidents however. For the most part they’re all just guys in suits, their faces are everything.
