Character Changes
October 1st, 2007Looking back makes me realise that Meche needs a haircut - it’s gotten long! I wonder if it’s gotten too big… I kind of like the way it used to be… If it was neatened a little.
Now, should I write this into the character? Like, if we ever see a flash back, should her hair be smaller? Might be fun. When I was younger, I always wished they’d do that with characters in comics/cartoons - make the refinements and changes in the process canonical to the world they inhabit, so flash backs would have old design elements; which would also help the feeling of it being in the past. I later learned from experience that these changes are almost always improvments to the artists, and going back to the rough old versions would be like torture. I don’t know if you’ll understand any of my thoughts here, I’m finding it hard expressing it in words. There’s some good examples of this in The Simpsons, if you ever want to compare the first episodes of newer ones set in the past.
Elwood’s hair has grown a little too.
